English Review is the principal magazine for A-Level English students to use for their course. The latest copy is kept on the mezzanine floor and back copies are kept in the Library, ask the librarian for these. The magazine is also available on-line as are the back copies, please link from here.
The English Review articles are written by examiners and teachers and leading English academics. The magazines aim is to assist students gain deeper textual and contextual knowledge of the texts together with the skills to study independently.
Recent articles have included Expert analysis of set texts, including Nicola Onyett on Pride and Prejudice and North and South, Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber, the marriage problem in Much Ado about Nothing, fear and loathing in The Great Gatsby and Ophelia in Hamlet.
